Cleaning Instructions

Your dermal only needs clear running water daily. It’s important that your piercing gets a long rinse with clean running water at least once daily. During a shower is the easiest. Make sure it gets 3 minutes under steady flowing warm/hot water. This is the best way to remove crustiness or discharge. It does not need sprays, ointments or soaps.

Helpful Hints

Only check the top for tightness in the shower, be- cause your hands are clean while showering.

Contact your piercer if your jewelry must be removed (such as for a medical procedure).

Our dermal bases are made from titanium. They should not interfere with MRIs, Xrays, ultrasounds, or CAT scans. They are nonmagnetic, and nonconductive.

Lumps and bumps surrounding dermal anchors may shrink or go away by treating with Mederma scar ointment. Also scars from removed dermals can be minimized.

You may be able to donate blood within the standard deferral period with a copy of your consent form.

Do Not Touch it !

Your piercing is a wound. All wounds need a scab. Do not pick at it! Like any other wound, it will take longer to heal , and creates excessive scarring. Any
scabbing or crusting that the wound does not need will come off during normal showering.

It also increases the risk of infection, the scab is protection against bacteria entering. And your hands are covered in bacteria, so keep them away from
your dermal!
